This game can be addicting, but the total “fun” factor is probably a 4 out of 10. Once you get into it, it is really interesting to balance the needs of your citizens as well as trying to deal with national emergencies. It seems from the times that I have played it that being “middle of the road” gets you nowhere, basically if you try to appease both the right and the left, both the motorists and the environmentalists, both sides will not like you enough to vote for you. On a positive note I want to say that it portrays an interesting view of the United States political system, and the challenges that the President, whether it be Obama or any other President has to face. People who like political science or who are studying it will like it for that, but if you are not interested in politics you should pass.

I bought this game thinking I’m great at strategy/tycoon games so I’ll run the country. This game really makes you think. Little changes in policy can greatly effect how the country runs and how voters think of you. To put it mildly, it really made appreciate what responsibility an actual President really has. If you love strategy and tycoon games, try this one.
